Join Crimson and The Wildbirch Hotel for a special Second Friday artist reception featuring “PINK,” a new exhibition by Anchorage artist Katie Sevigny.
Usually held on First Friday, this month’s reception moves to the second Friday of July as the holiday weekend pulls many Alaskans out of town and into summer adventures. On Friday, July 10, we invite you to slow down, gather, and experience Katie’s vivid exploration of a color often underestimated.
Traditionally associated with softness, nostalgia, romance, and playfulness, pink becomes something far more expansive in this collection. It floods the scales of salmon fighting their way home, ignites the fleeting alpenglow on distant forests, blooms from petals, and radiates through ordinary objects elevated by attention and paint. In Katie’s work, pink is not simply delicate — it is charged, alive, and transformative.
Guests are invited to meet the artist, enjoy light refreshments from 6–7 PM, and take in the exhibition in the Crimson Lounge at The Wildbirch Hotel.
